Bed and breakfast. Alojamientos pequeños en
casas particulares con pocas habitaciones que
ofrecen alojamiento y desayuno. Usualmente
no ofrecen otras comidas. 
Millers Residence (Boutique hotel), Inglaterra.
Boutique hotel. Son hoteles especialmente
íntimos en tamaño (menos de 30 habitaciones),
meticulosamente decorados y con buen gusto,
con un servicio impecable y bien organizado.
Budget hotels. Hoteles con muy pocas
comodidades (servicios limitados) y baratos.
Capsule hotels. Hoteles económicos que
se pueden encontrar en Japón donde la
gente duerme en containers rectangulares
apilados.

Treehouse hotels. Hoteles que son construidos con
árboles vivos como elementos de su estructura. Se
encuentran en varios países como en Brasil,

Motels. Hoteles económicos para una corta
estancia generalmente al costado de las rutas,

Resort and Spa. Igual que los resorts pero con el
agregado de los servicios de Spa. Los servicios
incluyen entre otros, pérdida de peso, tratamiento
medico, masajes, tratamientos para el cuerpo como
la aromaterapia, jacuzzi, sauna, tratamientos de
belleza, baños especiales, etc, variando de un hotel
a otro.

Underwater hotels. Hoteles con alojamiento
bajo el agua. Por ejemplo en Cayo Largo en
Florida USA, en Dubai, Emiratos Arabes y en
Fidji.
HOTEL STAFF
PERSONAL DEL HOTEL
Bartender/Barman. Empleado que prepara
todas las bebidas en el bar.
Bellboy/Bellman. Botones/Portero. Persona
que ayuda con las valijas mientras el pasajero
realiza el check in/check out.
Cashier. Empleado de la oficina de contaduría
en el hotel.
Chambermaid. Encrgada de hacer la limpieza
de las habitaciones de los huéspedes.
Chef. Palabra francesa designando al jefe de la
cocina.
Concierge. Conserje. Se encarga de informar a
los clientes, comprar tickets para un concierto
ó teatro, si el hotel no tiene agencia de viajes
se puede encargar de dar información
turística, reconfirmar un vuelo, etc.
Doorman. Empleado que está en la puerta del
hotel y ayuda al huesped con el equipaje.
Housekeeper. Ama de llaves. Personal de
mantenimiento.
Maintenance engineer. Ingeniero de
maqntenimiento. Encargado de preservar al
hotel de cualquier deterioro.
Maitre. Término francés que en hotelería y
gastronomía se usa para designar a una
persona muy calificada que dirige el servicio
de comedor.
Manager. Director.
Parking attendant. Guardacoches.
Receptionist. Recepcionista.
Room service waiter. Encargado de llevar
el servicio al cuarto (room service).
Switchboard operator. Telefonista.
Valet. Valet. Empleado exclusivo para el
huesped que lo ayuda con la ropa. etc.
Waiter. Camarero.
Waitress. Camarera.
Wine Steward/Sommelier. Empleado del
restaurant que recomienda y sirve el vino.

TIPOS DE ALOJAMIENTO
American plan. Sometimes abbreviated as AP in hotel listings, means
that the quoted rate includes the rooms plus three meals a day, i.e.
breakfast, lunch, and dinner. In Europe and some other countries the
American Plan is referred to as Full Pension or Full Board.
El American Plan, algunas veces abreviado como AP en los listados de
hoteles, significa que la tarifa cotizada incluye la habitación más tres
comidas al día, desayuno, almuerzo y cena. En Europa y muchos otros
países el American Plan es llamado como Full Pension ó Full Board.
The Modified American Plan, sometimes abbreviated as MAP in hotel
listings, means that the quoted rate includes the room plus two meals
a day, including breakfast and either lunch or dinner. In Europe and
some other countries the Modified American Plan is referred to as
Half Pension or Half Board. El Modified American Plan, abreviado
como MAP en las listas de hoteles, significa que la tarifa cotizada
incluye la habitación más dos comidas al día, desayuno y almuerzo
y/o cena. En Europa y algunos otros países el Modified American
Plan se llama como Half Pension ó Half Board.
The Continental Plan, sometimes abbreviated as CP in hotel listings,
indicates that the quoted rate includes a Continental Breakfast or a
English Breakfast. A continental breakfast normally consists of
coffee or tea, juice, and bread. The bread may be as simple as a loaf
or as appealing as a basket of freshly baked croissants, scones, and
muffins. At some facilities, yogurt and fresh fruit may also be
available. The English breakfast include cooked foods, such as
pancakes or eggs. El Continental Plan, abreviado como CP en
la lista de hoteles, indica que la tarifa incluye desayuno continental
ó desayuno inglés. El desayuno continental normalmente consiste
en café o te, jugo, y pan. Puede ser simplemente pan de molde o
croissants, scones y muffins. Yogurt y fruta fresca pueden también
estar disponibles. El desayuno inglés incluye comida cocida,
como panqueques ó huevos.
The European Plan, sometimes abbreviated as EP in hotel listings,
indicates that the quoted rate is strictly for lodging and does not
include any meals. The advantage of the European Plan is that it
encourages guests to try a variety of restaurant experiences, and
they can often save money by eating at establishments that charge
less than the hotel dining room. El European Plan, abreviado como
EP en las listas de hoteles, indica que la tarifa es estrictamente
para alojamiento y no incluye ninguna comida.

Double room (DB). Habitación con una cama matrimonial.
Junior suite. Habitación con una cama matrimonial,
baño y una sala.
Suite. Las Suites ofrecen más espacio y muebles
que una típica habitación de hotel; a diferencia
del tamaño de las camas en una habitación normal,
una suite típicamente tendrá una sala, usualmente
con un sofacama, comedor, oficina y algunas veces
una cocina.
Triple room (TPL). Habitación con una cama matrimonial
más una cama extra.
Twin room. Habitación con dos camas individuales.
Single room. Habitación con una cama simple.
Connecting rooms/Adjoining rooms. Son habitaciones un al lado
de la otra conectadas por una puerta.
Hotel bungalows. Habitaciones tipo cabaña de
construcción rústica, generalmente ubicadas en
resorts hoteleros fuera de las ciudades,
cercanos a algún río, el mar ó en el campo.

Advance deposit. Depósito de dinero que suele
solicitarse en un hotel para garantizar una estadía.

Buffet. Modalidad de servicio que permite al cliente
servirse a discreción de los platos expuestos en un
area por una tarifa única.
